What Do We Live For

“Wear a smile

and have friends;

wear a scowl

and have wrinkles.

What do we live for

if not to make

the world less difficult

for each other?”

— George Eliot

Set your expectations high but do not be

disappointed if every day is not a home run,

or about reaching the top of Mt. Everest.

Today, be content that you did no harm,

that you did not set civilization back a few centuries,

that the best you could do was to keep your head above water.

Smile, it makes life less difficult for all.

Kindness is what we live for.

Kindness is the beginning of a life filled with love.
